High Silicon Cast Iron
High-silicon cast iron refers to a type of cast iron material with high silicon content, usually containing 2-4.5% silicon. According to silicon content and structure, high silicon cast iron can be further subdivided into different grades and categories.
Due to the addition of silicon element, high-silicon cast iron can effectively improve the thermal stability, heat resistance and corrosion resistance of cast iron, and also reduce the magnetic properties and thermal expansion coefficient of cast iron. Therefore, high-silicon cast iron is widely used in some special processes and application fields.
The following are common high-silicon cast iron grades:
1. HT250: High silicon cast iron with a carbon content of about 2.7-3.5% and a silicon content of about 1.7-2.7%. With high tensile strength and hardness, it is suitable for manufacturing mechanical parts, automobile parts, etc.
2. HT300: High silicon cast iron with a carbon content of about 3.0-3.6% and a silicon content of about 2.2-3.0%. With good wear resistance and impact resistance, it is widely used in the manufacture of heavy machinery parts.
3. HT350: High-silicon cast iron with a carbon content of about 3.3-3.7% and a silicon content of about 2.5-3.5%. With high strength and hardness, it is suitable for manufacturing steel industry parts under high load and high wear environment.
